Indications of Chear 25mg Tablet

Chear is prescribed for the treatment of:

• Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Pharmacology

Sertraline acts by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) in the central nervous system (CNS), leading to increased concentrations of 5-HT at synaptic clefts. This enhances its sustained activity at postsynaptic receptor sites, ultimately improving depression. It also reduces serotonin turnover in the brain.

Dosage & Administration of Chear 25mg Tablet

For Adults:

• Major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder: Starting dose of 50 mg, with a therapeutic range of 50-200 mg.
• Panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder: Starting dose of 25 mg, with a therapeutic range of 50-200 mg.

For pediatric patients (ages 6-12 years old) with obsessive-compulsive disorder: Starting dose of 25 mg, with a therapeutic range of 50-200 mg.

Interaction

Potential interactions with drugs highly bound to plasma proteins, such as warfarin or digitoxin, may cause shifts in plasma concentrations. Chear may also interact with other drugs like cimetidine, diazepam, hypoglycemic drugs, and atenolol.

Contraindications

Sertraline is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to sertraline or any excipients. It is not recommended in patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Safety during pregnancy is not established, and caution is advised during lactation due to potential excretion in breast milk.
